CD and DVD Duplication is commonly used for a smaller “short run” amount or fast-turn copying jobs. When copying amounts of 1 – 1000 discs duplication is commonly used as the standard approach. Because disc burning speed has increased considerably through time, the appropriate speed will be determined while copying your DVDs or CDs. Depending on the quantity you are looking for, duplication is a quicker approach to create 1 – 1000 discs. A rapid – turn is more manageable since the time is minimal.
Replication is used to produce mass amounts of (starting at over 500) discs. The replication process is equipped to handle large quantities and keep costs low because the process doesn’t begin with an already manufactured CD or DVD disc. The procedure starts with a “glass master” of the initial content. The glass master is subsequently used to stamp out, or replicate, CDs or DVDs from a poly – carbonite material. The disc is then either screen-printed or offset printed.
Replication typically takes longer than duplication due to the extra steps of making a glass master and producing screens for printing to complete your job.
